  • On Thursday, Nancy Lieberman Charities, Sport Court and Boys & Girls Club of Lanier unveiled a full-size basketball court at the east side facility at #1 Positive Place near the hospital, offering a safe area — Dream Court — for local youth to play and build ties with law enforcement.  97.5 Glory

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Milton Martin Honda will move on Monday, Jan. 12 from its longtime Browns Bridge Road location to 2938 Atlanta Highway, Gainesville + the new site will offer three service lanes, 33 service bays, and enhanced customer amenities.  AccessWDUN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Hall County Schools announced Friday night that it will appoint a new transportation director at the end of the school year + district officials say the change will help improve student transit options.  The Gainesville Times
  • Gainesville School District announced enrollment and registration for the 2026-27 school year, inviting families to review guidelines + complete necessary forms.  The Gainesville Times
  • Schools Supt. Will Schofield will recommend North Hall High principal Billy Wells as district transportation director (replacing retiring Clay Hobbs) at Monday’s board meeting, and East Hall Middle principal Dr. Jamie Hitzges will leave after nine years to pursue other opportunities at the end of the school year.  97.5 Glory

  • Registration opened Friday for Hall County Government Scholars’ Academy, a free nine-session course that offers local government tours and insights (spots fill quickly) (registration closes Feb. 28 at 5:00 p.m.).  97.5 Glory

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hall County hospitalizations have spiked during a severe flu season as signs at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (posted Thursday, Jan. 8) urged visitors to wear facemasks. This rise in cases highlights increased health risks for local residents.  The Gainesville Times
