- ➤ The Cherokee Bluff boys pulled away from East Hall on Jan. 9 in Flowery Branch using two key trademarks, while the Lady Bears defeated the Lady Vikings in a Region 8-3A opener on the same day. Both teams secured important wins in their high school contests. The Gainesville Times
