  • Gas prices in Gainesville are averaging $2.71 a gallon today, a bit higher than the state average of $2.70 due to small weekly increases (diesel is about $3.45 per gallon, according to AAA).  97.5 Glory

  • Four Business & Technology students from Johnson High placed in the top 10 at the 2026 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship fall qualifier, proving their skill with Microsoft programs and reflecting the rigorous preparation provided by the school district.  AccessWDUN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hall County Sheriff’s Office reports that Ga. 211/Tanner’s Mill Road is closed at Benefield Road today while power company crews replace a damaged pole — southbound traffic is detoured to Ponderosa Farm Road and northbound drivers are rerouted to Ga. 53 via Winder Highway.  97.5 Glory
  • Jackson EMC has opened board nominations to elect directors representing Gwinnett, Jackson, and Hall-Lumpkin counties at its annual meeting in September in Jefferson. (Nominations may come from the board committee or a petition by 50 members, due 150–200 days before the meeting.)  97.5 Glory
