  • Sen. Jon Ossoff announced on Wednesday that $1.8‑million in federal funds will help the Salvation Army renovate its local facility — with upgrades to the homeless shelter, kitchen, dining, gym, and childcare areas supported by bipartisan efforts.  AccessWDUN
  • The state legislature passed a bill to replace the Cherokee rose with the native Sweetbay Magnolia as the state flower, pending the governor’s signature today. Rep. Deborah Silcox explained the change was prompted by the rose’s non-native origins, according to the Georgia Native Plant Society.  97.5 Glory
