  • A Gainesville woman aged 25 was arrested on bond for repeatedly striking a 6 year old boy with a leather belt as reported by DFACS and she faces charges of battery under the family violence act and cruelty to children in the first degree.  97.5 Glory
  • Gainesville Police confirmed that a young man charged with aggravated assault in the critical wounding of a 15 year old on March 6 at Wee Willy’s has now been charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and an additional aggravated assault charge—while a 61 year old woman, already charged with murdering her live-in boyfriend at their Bayridge Drive home, now faces a tampering with evidence charge as the investigation continues.  97.5 Glory

  • Georgia's January unemployment rate stays at 3.6 percent as the labor department reports a monthly drop of 28,200 jobs and a yearly gain of 17,800 to total 4,956,100 jobs — Durable Goods Manufacturing, State Government and Federal Government added jobs while Transportation and Warehousing and Accommodation and Food Services saw declines.  97.5 Glory
  • Dawson County grew 6.4% to reach 33,748 people between July 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024, making it the fastest growing county in the nation—Jackson County increased 5.8% to 93,825 and Hall County gained 2.06% while Forsyth County grew 2.64%.  97.5 Glory

  • Gainesville High School will host its second annual Hiring Fair for students aged 16-18 to meet local employers and explore job opportunities after high school—this event aims to guide students into the workforce with real job connections.  The Gainesville Times
