- ➤ Hall County Parks and Leisure Services will host a glow in the dark Easter Egg Hunt at Laurel Park, 3100 Old Cleveland Hwy, Gainesville on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Gates open at 4:00 p.m.) with entry costing $20 per carload. Thousands of glowing eggs, bounce houses, food vendors and a trivia contest for a free entry will draw families rain or shine. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ Police said a man was shot in his leg Sunday, April 6 on Catalina Drive in Gainesville. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ Gas prices jumped last week in Gainesville, reaching $3.06 per gallon today after a 10-cent increase in Georgia and nationwide with the national average now at $3.26. AAA said that refinery maintenance and the switch to summer-blend gasoline are driving the rise (with Georgia's price at $3.04). 97.5 Glory

- ➤ Brenau Humanities will host a creative writing camp for children ages 11 to 15 during the first week of June from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trustee Library, where campers will use tabletop role playing games to practice creative writing and problem-solving skills while lunch and snacks are provided (early bird registration is $225 until April 15 while later registration is $250). 97.5 Glory

- ➤ Hall County will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on April 17 at 3:30 to start the 3.55 miles Sardis Road Connector project that will build a new four lane divided roadway linking Sardis Road and Chestatee Road to State Route 60. The project is budgeted at $86.2 million (with $28.3 million for preconstruction and $56 million for construction) and will begin at 3565 Thompson Bridge Road (former Happy Pappy’s Storage facility). 97.5 Glory
- ➤ K9 teams from law agencies in Stephens, White, and Hall counties along with the Waycross Police Department came to Gainesville for training that involved tracking exercises in wooded areas and narcotics detection tests at the old Hall County Courthouse. By the end of the day, the teams earned certification from the North American Police Dog Working Association—confirming their readiness for future tasks. 97.5 Glory
