- ➤ The Hall County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday night that 37-year-old Adrian Mangum, who is 5 foot 7 and weighs 130 pounds and is partially blind with mental health issues, took a bus from Gainesville to Valdosta for a parole appointment after scanning his ticket Monday at the Shell station on Monroe Drive but never arrived — anyone with information is urged to call 911. - ➤ A 24-year-old woman from Alto was arrested on Feb. 6 for child cruelty after video evidence showed her placing a dog leash around a toddler’s neck and giving him a marijuana joint during an incident investigated since Dec. 18, 2024—she was charged with reckless conduct and first-degree child cruelty and later released on bond. - ➤ The Georgia Department of Natural Resources added a slow no wake zone on Lake Lanier north of Gainesville on April 15 to improve safety for boaters and shoreline visitors, with signage installed near (Carl Rogers Bridge) and (Lake Lanier Olympic Park).
