- ➤ The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier are hosting Duck Derby at Lake Lanier Olympic Park next Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the duck race at 2:30 p.m.; 20,000 rubber ducks will race, and one winner will claim a $10,000 prize supporting youth programs. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ After the loss of senior pastor Jeremy Shoulta two weeks ago, First Baptist Church in Gainesville posted an open letter thanking its circle of hope (community members, volunteers and congregants) for support during the difficult time; the letter noted cards, food, flowers, and help from Gainesville First United Methodist Church. 97.5 Glory

ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Twelve people were left homeless when a fire destroyed a home early Thursday evening on the 3100 block of Ridgemont Tract in south Gainesville, and several were treated for smoke inhalation while crews worked for over two and a half hours to put out the blaze. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ A ribbon-cutting ceremony at Lake Lanier Olympic Park opened the Legacy Pavilion today to honor Gainesville’s Olympic past and the contributions of Steve Gilliam, the late Jim Mathis and Mary Hart Wilheit. The event recognized local efforts in sports (rowing, canoeing, kayaking) that marked 30 years of Olympic history. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ The Georgia Department of Transportation resurfaced Dawsonville Highway on Friday, Apr. 24, completing 6.6 miles (milling, inlay and plant mix resurfacing) from the Chestatee River bridge to Lanier Valley Drive.
