The U.S. Forest Service has lifted the campfire ban in Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest after rainfall lowered fire danger; however, some areas remain risky with warmer temperatures and wind in the forecast.

Visitors can resume campfires in designated spots and must use established fire rings.

Ivy-Watson Field, home to the GHS baseball Red Elephants, is set for a nearly $8M rebuild that will completely remodel the facility; work is scheduled to finish by the end of this year (located on Cleveland Highway).

The UNG baseball team won three games with a 32-4 score to set up a best-of-three PBC championship series on May 8-9 at Bob Stein Stadium in Dahlonega.

The softball team earned 12th Peach Belt title while UNG tennis teams secured NCAA bids (women seeded fourth in the Southeast Regional).
