- ➤ On Monday night, a Gainesville motorcycle rider, Kyle Reece Barnes, was hurt very badly on Cleveland Highway when a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Kevin Drew Mitchell left a store parking lot and hit his bike—Mitchell was charged with DUI, serious injury by vehicle and other traffic violations. - ➤ East Hall High teacher and coach Victor Vega died Tuesday morning in a motorcycle crash on Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville—his bike collided with a Chevrolet Suburban when driver Maria Escobedo reportedly failed to yield, and she was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide.
