- ➤ School officials at Johnson High said a student made an inappropriate remark on Wednesday, May 6 that was deemed noncredible + no lockdown was needed as the investigation continues and the student may face disciplinary action. AccessWDUN

- ➤ Downtown Gainesville's square lit up on Wednesday, May 5 – Eduardo Cautino led the kickoff performance for the Blue Sky Concert Series as local restaurants provided to-go lunches for visitors. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ In March, the state Department of Labor reported that Hall County reached a record 111,689 employed persons, marking an increase of 414 from February and 1,494 from last year while the unemployment rate dropped to 2.8. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ The U.S. Drought Monitor reported on Thursday that drought conditions remain unchanged in much of Georgia & the Corps of Engineers said Lake Lanier dropped to 1065.8, 5.3 feet below normal. 97.5 Glory
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the free Gainesville Trolley returns and will run from 5 p.m. until midnight Friday and Saturday until Sept. 12. The service now includes stops at Cresswind at Lake Lanier + new neighborhood routes in Dixon, Glenwood/Riverside, and Midland and Fairstreet. AccessWDUN
