EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State Schools Supt. Richard Woods named four local schools as AP Schools of Distinction, including Gainesville High School and three in Hall County (Cherokee Bluff High, Flowery Branch High, and North Hall). It honors schools with 20% AP participation and 50% scoring 3 or higher. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ Lanier Technical College held its 60th Commencement Ceremony Friday at the Hall County campus quadrangle, where 459 graduates received certificates, diplomas, or degrees and benefited from a Warranty to Employers (offering free retraining if needed). AccessWDUN
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers monitors drought conditions affecting water levels at Lake Lanier and other local reservoirs. Officials advise boaters to wear life jackets and be cautious as below-normal rainfall has led to low streamflow (conditions are expected to persist through the summer). 97.5 Glory
