- ➤ A ceremony was held Monday in south Florida to remember the 110 victims of the 1996 ValuJet crash, including three from Gainesville, as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chaplain Alex Trinchet honored the lives lost in the tragedy. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce announced its 45th Leadership Hall County class Tuesday. Since 1982, the program has graduated 1,164 leaders, and this year’s class includes representatives from Gainesville City Schools, local law enforcement and community organizations. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ The Arts Council in Gainesville will kick off its Summer Music Series this Saturday, May 16 at the Smithgall Arts Center with the Joe Gransden Ensemble, an eight-piece jazz band from Atlanta who plays swing and classic jazz.
