  • Country singer Jake Worthington will perform at Smithgall Arts Center on Friday, June 12, where attendees can bring lawn chairs and blankets; gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:00 p.m. This outdoor event is part of the Summer Music Series by The Arts Council.  AccessWDUN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gainesville High School will honor Robert Bruner and Bryson Worley as honorary diploma recipients at its commencement ceremony on May 22 at City Park Stadium.  The Gainesville Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A temporary traffic pattern will be in effect on White Sulphur Road starting Tuesday, May 26, due to an ongoing widening project in northeast Hall County. The detour directs through traffic via State Route 365 (Cornelia Highway) while local and Gainesville Inland Port vehicles maintain access.  AccessWDUN
  • Governor Kemp extended the gas tax exemption for two weeks to save families roughly 33 cents on regular gas and 37 cents on diesel. The new measure begins at 12:01 a.m. May 20 and runs through June 3.  AccessWDUN
