ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ China has agreed to increase trade for U.S. agricultural products including poultry with an annual rate of $17 billion, the White House said on Sunday. The move is expected to help Georgia's local poultry industry in Hall County grow, with more chicken legs and necks available for export. 97.5 Glory
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Riverside Preparatory Academy held its 115th graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 16 at its historic Gainesville campus — the weekend featured a military parade, Silver Taps, and awards for top scholars as nearly 100 colleges extended admissions and nearly $2M in scholarships was offered. - ➤ Jared Belew (Spout Springs principal) will serve as the new director of student services for Hall County Schools and will start his role soon as part of the district's efforts to improve student support. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ Hall County assumed daily operations of 11 Lake Lanier parks Monday under a new partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The county will manage grounds and custodial services while the Corps handles security & all valid visitor passes and fees remain unchanged. FOX 5 Atlanta

- ➤ At least four Georgians fell ill in a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to backyard ducks since April — health officials advise proper handwashing after handling poultry to help prevent further cases. FOX 5 Atlanta
