GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Rep. David Clark said on Saturday that he will propose a bill next year to study if Georgia and local governments can take over Lake Lanier's recreation areas, which the Corps of Engineers may close due to staffing shortages and budget cuts. • State Rep. David Clark (from Buford) said he is upset with the Army Corps of Engineers for temporarily closing 11 Lake Lanier parks due to staffing shortfalls, with some closures affecting Gainesville.
