- ➤ Data from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources shows that no boating incidents occurred on Lake Lanier during Memorial Day weekend and that 12 boating DUI arrests statewide did not include any in Northeast Georgia—updated numbers will be released throughout the holiday. AccessWDUN
- ➤ Early voting begins Tuesday for the special public service commission primaries set for June 17 at the Gainesville Civic Center, North Hall Community Center and Mulberry Creek Community Center—voters should plan to use these sites. A runoff will be held on July 15 if needed and winners will be chosen on November 4, with the special election following a 2022 lawsuit that argued statewide voting diluted Black voting strength. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ Today, administrative offices in Gainesville and Hall County are closed for Memorial Day and no garbage or recycling will be picked up, so Monday's collection will be moved to Tuesday while Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday collections shift accordingly—compactor sites remain open. 97.5 Glory
