  • A pedestrian was hit by a pickup late Wednesday night on Gainesville’s southside when the 20-year-old driver’s truck struck her on Industrial Boulevard at 11:20 p.m.—she was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for minor injuries and cited for walking on the highway while the driver faces no charges.  97.5 Glory

CRIME NEWS

  • A 29-year-old Gainesville woman was arrested on Tuesday for alleged card fraud and exploitation of a 74-year-old cancer patient after an investigation that began on May 13 linked unauthorized transactions totaling $2,720.95 to her PayPal account, leading to her arrest at a hotel on Lanier Islands Parkway and her current holding in Hall County Jail with a $12,700 bond and a hold in Newton County.  AccessWDUN
  • A Gainesville man, Ricardo Guzman-Hernandez, 31, was arrested after allegedly breaking into a woman's home near Titshaw Drive on May 26 at 10 p.m., assaulting her by grabbing her arms and trying to strangle her, evading deputies during a foot chase before falling on Mountaincrest Drive and being apprehended, and now faces charges including first-degree burglary, aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, simple battery, interfering with an emergency call and obstructing an officer while held in Hall County Jail with no bond.  AccessWDUN
