  • Hall County Animal Shelter hosts half-priced adoptions every Friday and Saturday in June as part of Adoption Pool-ooza.   • Young Harris College Trustee Jon Anderson was awarded the YHC Medallion and Lifetime Trustee status at an April board meeting. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Gainesville reported a 500,000-gallon sewage spill Friday and officials said the incident is minor compared to a 2-million-gallon spill in Flowery Branch in 2020 + which followed heavy rains that strained outdated treatment systems.  97.5 Glory
  • The US Drought Monitor report, updated every Thursday, uses precipitation data, temperature, soil moisture, and local expert observations (from over 450 experts) to rank drought severity on a five-level scale. SPORTS NEWS

  • The NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships ended at Lake Lanier Olympic Park today, with Stanford winning in Division I, Western Washington reclaiming its title in Division II, and Tufts extending championship streak in Division III (22 Division I teams raced 2,000 meters).
