- ➤ A Gainesville man died in a Tuesday night crash on Cornelia Highway — Hall County officials said Richard Dean Short, 60, was killed after trying to make a left turn near White Sulphur Road while four occupants in the other vehicle reported minor injuries and traffic was delayed for about 90 minutes. - ➤ Early Sunday at approximately 5 a.m., Hall County deputies responded to a shooting on Smith Street when suspect Pablo Rodriguez Mosqueda fired his handgun at a family picking up a 36-year-old victim from his home — no one was injured and Mosqueda was arrested on four counts of aggravated assault and is held without bond. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ A 66-year-old man was arrested Tuesday at a homeless camp in Gainesville for public indecency — he exposed himself and masturbated in front of several people at the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. AccessWDUN
- ➤ A Gainesville man was arrested for aggravated assault last month after he stabbed another man in the parking lot of a title loan business—his probable cause hearing on Wednesday, June 11 raised questions about arguments over beer money. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ Lanier Technical College launched its new Artificial Intelligence and Automation program on June 11 in partnership with Georgia Tech and the state-funded Georgia AI Manufacturing Grant, which provided $1.6 million to build an Automation Lab aimed at training workers for Northeast Georgia’s food production manufacturing. About 120 students have enrolled in the program that offers four certificates to teach skills in data collection, analysis, industrial wiring, and motor control + prepares them for growing job opportunities forecast by the U.S. Department of Labor.
