ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Gainesville motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and suffered traumatic injuries in a wreck on Mountain View Road on June 18, according to authorities.  The Gainesville Times

  • Milton Martin Honda will open its new dealership in Oakwood later this year and could begin construction in October along Atlanta Highway/Ga. 13 near Interstate 985—dealer manager Butch Miller announced on June 18.  The Gainesville Times

CRIME NEWS

  • A Flowery Branch man, Dakota James Coggins, was cited in a wreck early Wednesday morning on Dawsonville Highway near Bolling Bridge that injured him and Emily Williams from Cumming as his vehicle overturned and caught fire after he crossed the double yellow center line trying to pass another car — he now faces charges for passing in a no passing zone, driving on the wrong side, and driving without a license.  AccessWDUN
  • A Hall County woman asked Kyle James Craig (31) to drive her home from a party on June 1, and he entered Magistrate Court on June 18 facing charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, DUI, driving with a suspended license and battery under the Family Violence Act.  The Gainesville Times

  • Gainesville is proposing a $39 million budget — up 3% from last year — that includes raises and roadwork although one number remains uncertain.  The Gainesville Times
  • Hall County's top attorney resigned and officials have not shared details on the reasons or plans for appointing a replacement.  The Gainesville Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • A golf tournament at Legends at Chateau Elan raised over $300k to expand the emergency department at NGMC Braselton from 23 to 46 treatment rooms with work finishing in 2026. The event honored the late Cheryl Shippey and attracted 120 golfers including a winning team from Mall of Georgia Ford.  AccessWDUN
