On July 2 at 9:25 p.m., a GSP-Gainesville trooper responded to a crash on SR 11—south of Shope Rd in Hall County—where a deer entered the road and struck a 2001 Harley Davidson Road King ridden by Craig Ray Adkins, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries while one lane remained closed for about 45 minutes.
Five people were injured when a boat exploded on the south end of Lake Lanier early Friday evening — four were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and one went to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, with all in stable condition.
