Two major animal shelters, Hall County Animal Shelter and the Gainesville Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, were certified as no kill in 2024 after achieving a 92% save rate with recognition from Best Friends Animal Society.

Officials thanked staff and volunteers + said they will work to maintain a 90%+ save rate despite rising intake numbers in 2025.
