- ➤ Gainesville City School System has a new bag rule for school events starting Tuesday that bans backpacks, purses, laptop bags and more while allowing only (clear, diaper, camera, and small clutch) bags. - ➤ Jackson EMC is now accepting applications for its Bright Ideas grant program which awards up to $2,000 to state-certified teachers of grades 6-8—applications must be submitted by Sept. 8. The program is designed to support innovative classroom projects that engage students. AccessWDUN
