EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lakeview Academy unveiled its new Beverly Fine Arts Center on Monday ahead of classes, building a 10,000-square-foot facility for K-12 fine arts programs — the $7 million center was funded through its Imagine Campaign. Head of School John Simpson said the school is renovating a former fine arts space into a state-of-the-art robotics center to open by October 1.  AccessWDUN
  • Hall County Schools adopted a new exam exemption policy that allows high schoolers to skip final exams to boost attendance. The change was approved on (Feb. 26) and is expected to increase student participation.  The Gainesville Times
  • Brenau University is preparing for increased traffic as fall classes begin next Monday—move-in days are set with new students arriving today and Thursday, and returning students moving in on Saturday.  97.5 Glory

  • Three high school football programs in Hall earned Week 1 rankings for 2025 while Gainesville’s quarterback Xavier Griffin was named to the AJC Super 11— marking a strong start to the season.  The Gainesville Times
