- ➤ A company that makes Asian sauces has announced a plan to build a $70 million plant at Gainesville 85 Business Park on Fulenwider Road which will serve as its U.S manufacturing home. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ On Thursday, the Georgia Department of Labor said that Georgia’s unemployment rate fell to 3.4% in July, which is 0.1% lower than June and 0.8% below the national rate of 4.2%—jobs dropped to just under five million at 4,995,500. The health care and social assistance sector set a record high of 625,500 jobs as some sectors gained while others lost jobs. AccessWDUN

- ➤ The Georgia Senate Committee on Making Georgia the No. 1 State for Tourism held its first meeting at The Boathouse at Lake Lanier on August 14th, 2025—over 100 guests heard speakers discuss tourism budgets, strategies, and local partnerships. - ➤ On August 14, Israeli Consul General Eitan Weiss visited attorney Joseph Summer’s memorial near the Midland Greenway (corner of Grove and Parker) which honors hostages taken by Hamas on October 7.
