  • Hall County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help locate 15-year-old Alwyn Lomas—described as 6 feet tall and 120 lbs with brown hair and eyes—who was last seen wearing black shorts and a black shirt at a Chestatee High School football game on Sardis Road on August 15 when a family member reported he missed his ride.  AccessWDUN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • TangerKids Grants Program has opened applications for the 2025‑26 academic year and North Georgia educators can apply by Oct. 18 to get funding for classroom projects that support underserved schools— while in 2024 nearly $200,000 was awarded and Shopper’s Choice voting will run from Dec. 2‑15 with winners announced on Jan. 30.  AccessWDUN

  • The Lake Lanier Association announced plans for this year’s Shore Sweep, a cleanup of Lake Lanier set for Sept. 20, which will bring together local volunteers. The event has removed 2.33 million pounds of trash in its 36-year history (1,200 people cleared 85 tons last year).  97.5 Glory

  • Jackson County Panthers defeated Flowery Branch Falcons 36-13 on Saturday at Panther Stadium—senior quarterback RJ Knapp and running back Daylan Maxwell led key drives in a game where penalties helped build an early lead.
