  • A $1.2 billion data center covering 119 acres is proposed off Candler Road in southeast Hall County — its dedicated power substation will support the facility.  The Gainesville Times
  • Gainesville is hosting the annual Georgia Downtown Association meeting downtown this week with business leaders from across the state gathering to learn from local successes—organizers say the event will help boost downtown growth. SPORTS NEWS

  • Week 2 of high school football ended and every local team played a game — North Hall built strength for a top-10 match while Riverside earned its first win and teams like Jefferson, Flowery Branch, and Buford showed strong defense.   • North Hall posted the top offensive performance in Week 2 with 580 yards as Wyatt Tumlin rushed for 221 yards including a 99-yard touchdown and QB Alex Schlieman passed for 220 yards and three touchdowns in a 41—7 win at The Brickyard against Wesleyan.
