- ➤ Jose Carmelo Tadeo, a Gainesville man, appeared in Hall County Superior Court on August 26 for the first day of his trial on charges of rape—he is accused of repeatedly elbowing his ex-girlfriend when she went to his Hall County home on November 16 to retrieve a deleted photo. - ➤ Hall County has named Jorge Gomez as the new public works director—he will manage county roadways and maintenance projects. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ Gainesville Water Resources will interrupt water service on Gillsville Highway from 10 p.m. Friday to about 6 a.m. Saturday to install a new water main — roughly 280 customers between 2557 and 3003 Gillsville Highway will be affected, and officials advise customers to secure equipment and drivers to exercise caution around construction crews.
