- ➤ 23-year-old Mateo Sanabria announced his candidacy for Georgia’s House District 28 at a town hall event on Thursday night; he will fight for affordable housing and job opportunities in northeast Forsyth and western Hall counties — while rejecting donations from large companies. - ➤ The Hall County Commission voted 3-1 to impose a six-month moratorium on high-density developments—Commissioner Greg Poole proposed the pause in April and the measure follows a similar action in Forsyth County. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ City officials will begin resurfacing a portion of South Enota Drive near the new traffic signal at South Enota and Downey Boulevard adjacent to the hospital starting Tuesday — the project will last four days, weather permitting — with milling and clean-up scheduled at night and resurfacing planned for the day. 97.5 Glory
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ At least 95 people have been sick with salmonella from eggs recalled by Country Eggs LLC since January, with 18 hospitalized in illnesses that have spread to 14 states. Georgia consumers should check their refrigerators for recalled eggs—those with code CA 7695 and sell-by dates of July 1 through Sept. 16—and discard them or return them for a refund. 97.5 Glory
