- ➤ Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested Jose Alfredo Silva Osegueda, 29, on Aug. 30 at his Columns Drive residence after he kidnapped and aggravated assaulted a 32-year-old woman at an East Main Street home in Gainesville—she suffered bruises and a cut while trying to escape following a heated argument. 97.5 Glory

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of North Georgia received a $2,000 grant from the Wish You Well Foundation to launch a literacy program for Hall County parents to improve their English by reading to their children. - ➤ The City of Gainesville is offering a homebuyer education workshop taught by HUD-certified counselors that meets federally funded program requirements such as those for the Summit Street Cottages.
