- ➤ Gainesville Police said a fatal wreck occurred Friday morning on Dawsonville Highway at Green Hill Circle when a pickup truck struck a motorcycle — the rider died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center as investigators examined the scene. AccessWDUN

- ➤ Books-A-Million opened its new store at The Village Shops on Pearl Nix Parkway in Gainesville Friday after closing its longtime Lakeshore Mall location, and the store features extended inventory and reading areas. CEO Terrance Finley said the new model store is part of the company’s planned investment in Northern Georgia — with a location already in Peachtree City and another planned for Sandy Springs later this year. - ➤ A Gainesville man, Alan Gutierrez, 38, was arrested for child molestation—he is charged with inappropriately touching a victim under 16 at his residence on Forest Hill Circle in a case dating back to 2015— and he currently remains in Hall County Jail without bond following an investigation that began this summer after the victim told a relative. 97.5 Glory
