- ➤ Hall County planning documents show that an Acorn gas station and several retail stores are proposed for a busy South Hall intersection off Thurmon Tanner Parkway—the project is set to bring new retail options to the area. The Gainesville Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Four rezoning requests involving industrial tracts and housing developments were tabled at Thursday’s HCC meeting — the industrial park and 700-unit housing plan in the 5400 block of Winder Highway will remain on hold until October 22nd. The proposals for industrial use in the 4700 block of Cagle Mill Road and a companion 323-unit development are set for review on December 11th. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ Hall County commissioners unanimously approved a new property tax rate Thursday—this change is expected to lower tax bills for many homeowners in 2026. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ Habersham County officials proposed an agreement with Hall County to allow EMS trainees to ride along on Hall County ambulances during their clinical rotations—this proposal is set for review by the county commission on Monday, and the commission will also consider right-of-way agreements for replacing bridges on Garrison Drive and Hub Tatum Road over Sautee Creek. 97.5 Glory
