- ➤ Last week, a Dawson County attorney filed a lawsuit on Aug. 18 against Hall and Dawson counties for nearly $85,000 in unpaid work for indigent juvenile clients during an audit of the Hall County Juvenile Court — a new hospice house broke ground and leadership changed at Good News at Noon. - ➤ University of North Georgia students on Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 with events including a Fiestas Patrias celebration on Sept. 17—featuring snacks and games—and additional activities like field day, karaoke, dance, and a salsa-making contest. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ AAA reports that as drivers settle into fall routines, gas prices in Gainesville drop with the average price for a gallon of regular now at $2.83 compared to $2.86 a week ago. The decrease is due to a surplus of crude oil supply and the start of the switch to winter-blend gasoline, with state and national averages also falling slightly. 97.5 Glory
