- ➤ A group of three heifers reported missing from a Hall County farm over the weekend returned yesterday when workers spotted them walking along the road near Glo-Crest Dairy & Mountain Fresh Creamery in Clermont. The farmers said the cows are tired, hungry and thirsty but are happy to be back with their herd. WSB-TV
- ➤ The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia has expanded services to support underprivileged and homeless pet owners in Gainesville by using a mobile veterinary unit and free drive-through vaccine clinics. The shelter served 30 pets at a local encampment and will hold two additional clinics in October—thanks to a Petco grant. AccessWDUN
- ➤ A Gainesville resident won $2.5 million from a lottery ticket purchased at Casa Blanca food mart on Browns Bridge Road—making them the third lottery winner this year. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ Farmers at Glo-Crest Dairy and Mountain Fresh Creamery in Clermont reported that three young heifers — two Holsteins and one Jersey Cross — went missing late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Neighbors and workers have searched the area since then because it is unusual for young cows to wander off. WSB-TV

- ➤ On Sept. 22, the Hall County school board approved $715,000 for renovations at four local schools. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ Stephanie Martinez, a Gainesville finance student and First-Gen senator at UNG, spoke at the program's five-year celebration that began during COVID-19—designed to help students navigate college. The mentoring network now includes nearly 300 participants, has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships, and achieved an 87% graduation rate for its 2020 cohort. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ Myers Elementary was recognized as a Title I Reward School by the Georgia Department of Education on Feb. 26—an honor that reflects its strong academic performance. The school celebrates this accolade as a key achievement in its dedication to student success. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ North Hall High School students Daniel Cavazos and Aidan Voyles have been named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists after they submitted detailed applications that include essays and SAT scores—Myers Elementary was named a Title I Reward School by the state Department of Education. Third-grade teacher Chandler Reed at Enota Elementary has been named the Gainesville City School System Teacher of the Year for 2025–2026 and received a $10,000 check from the Douglas and Kay Ivester Foundation. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ The Hall County School District announced that the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation donated $100,000 to update Learning Commons at four schools — West Hall Middle School, Flowery Branch Elementary School, Martin Technology Academy, and Sugar Hill Elementary School — as part of an ongoing initiative to enhance school media centers. - ➤ Gov. Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp will travel to South Korea this fall to boost Georgia's economic ties with a major partner. The trip was planned before a recent ICE raid at a south Georgia Hyundai plant—he will also visit Japan and it marks his third trip to the region. FOX 5 Atlanta
