COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Mule Camp Market will return for its 31st year on Oct. 10-12 on the Midland Greenway in downtown Gainesville. The event—renamed by the Gainesville Jaycees in 1993 to honor the city’s mule-driving past—is expected to draw over 75,000 visitors who will enjoy local crafts, food, and activities for children.  The Gainesville Times
  • Foster families gathered Saturday at Element Church in Gainesville for a training session led by foster care expert Dr. John DeGarmo—State Senator Drew Echols also attended to discuss caregiver stress and support systems.  97.5 Glory

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The City of Gainesville will host its second annual reading day today — an event designed to encourage literacy.  The Gainesville Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Early voting in Hall County begins on Oct.14 and ends on Oct.31 at four locations including the Gainesville Civic Center—three additional sites open later to help serve more voters. Registered voters will cast ballots for statewide, countywide and municipal races on Nov.4.  AccessWDUN

  • The Greater Hall Chamber/VISION 2030’s 18th Annual HealthSmart Expo will be held Thursday from 7:30 to 1:30 at the Gainesville Civic Center—featuring free health screenings and over 60 wellness exhibitors.  97.5 Glory

  • North Hall is listed as the top team in Class 3A in the weekly GHSA playoff rankings—this ranking positions the local school ahead as teams prepare for the playoffs.  The Gainesville Times
