  • Mule Camp Market, an annual event hosted by the Gainesville Jaycees and partly sponsored by the City of Gainesville, will return next week at the Midland Greenway. Police suggest that visitors park at the North Parking Deck at 100 Brenau Ave. NW or the Main Street Parking Deck at 301 Main St. SW — then take the Gainesville Trolley to reach the festival.  97.5 Glory

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Teacher Teresa Swaim of West Jackson Elementary School was named one of Georgia’s two Pre-K Teachers of the Year and will receive $3,000 for personal use and $4,500 for classroom supplies. A study ranked Hall County as one of Georgia's best and the Gainesville Housing Authority will use a $24,000 Spectrum Digital Education Grant to boost digital learning in unserved areas — updates that support local education.  97.5 Glory

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Hall County residents can drop off up to 10 old tires for free on Oct. 16—17 at the county landfill during Tire Amnesty Days funded by a grant from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. Tires must be 20 inches or less and not attached to a wheel—tractor-trailer, farm and agricultural tires will not be accepted.  97.5 Glory

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hall County Planning will review for a third time the planned data center on a 119-acre site on O’Kelly Road near the Candler Road intersection at its meeting on Monday. The agenda also includes a Special Use request for a group home (at 5424 Mulberry Preserve Drive near the Elizabeth Lane intersection) as the Gainesville Planning & Appeals Board will consider similar plans for a home for recovering drug addicts on Oct. 14.  97.5 Glory
