- ➤ Multiple community festivals and concerts are planned across Gainesville and nearby cities this weekend, with the Chicken Festival (today) in Gainesville featuring 7,000 lbs of chicken at Lake Lanier Olympic Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and additional events, including Greek, Diwali, arts festivals, Gold Rush Days, free movies, and live music performances, scheduled in Cumming, Sugar Hill, Dahlonega, Helen, Braselton, and Athens (each event offering unique local traditions). - ➤ Amazon plans to add up to 10,500 seasonal jobs in Georgia at its South Hall facility — seasonal workers are expected to earn about $19 per hour while regular employees will earn $23 with benefits.
