Good morning, Gainesville.

Jackson EMC announced it will invest $90,000 to support food assistance organizations in northeast Georgia by donating 40 truckloads of food and awarding $20,000 to each group.

The donation comes from unclaimed member refunds and will help food banks improve services — an effort to fight hunger.

City of Flowery Branch announced on Saturday that donations for the Gainesville-Hall Meals on Wheels program are now being accepted — the program delivers hot lunches Monday through Friday to nearly 500 seniors in Hall County.

Residents can drop off new blankets or socks at City Hall at 5410 Pine Street — the Department of Fun building at 5512 Main Street will also accept donations until Nov 21.

Gas prices in Hall County dropped to $2.74 a gallon this morning, a nickel lower than last Monday, as low crude oil prices have helped push state and national averages lower.

Fair Street International Academy was chosen as one of over 70 elementary schools nationwide to join Disney's Stage Connect program — a free online musical training for teachers that provides performance rights to stage a Disney KIDS musical during the 2025 to 26 school year.

Principal Denise Haltrecht said the program offers professional development and educational materials—Tyson Hill noted it also connects students with local partners like Brenau University Dance Department in Gainesville.
