Atlanta Botanical Garden in Gainesville is hosting its first annual Gainesville Glows holiday light show featuring 12 miles of string lights, 2,300 color blossoms, 600 luminaries — and nearly 50 handmade lanterns to brighten the garden for holiday visitors.
The Georgia Mountains YMCA in Gainesville is asking community members to help children in need receive a gift for Christmas through its Tree of Giving Program.
Sponsors can select an Angel and drop off gifts at the J.A. Walters Family YMCA by December 7 — offering hope to families facing financial hardship.
Sully’s Steamers will host a full day celebration on November 18 — with free sandwiches given to the first 35 visitors and a $100 gift card for the 100th customer — designed to thank patrons with food, fun, and ongoing giveaways.

After nearly five years of planning and $1.4 million in renovations, the new Revolving Sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant on Jesse Jewell Parkway will open soon—bringing fresh dining options to local residents.
Grading is underway for a 6,526-square-foot business building next to the 7 Brew coffee stand in Oakwood—located on Winder Highway and set to house Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers.

Sixty-six HCSD students—a record number—were named nominees for the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program, a residential summer program for gifted high school sophomores and juniors at Georgia Southern University.
The district will notify semifinalist candidates on February 6.

Tuesday night’s solar storms produced colorful northern lights over Gainesville.
Scientists say the aurora borealis will be visible in north Georgia again tonight — look to the northern horizon between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
🏥 Health
NGHS Marketplace raised more than $320,000—its largest total ever—to support Safe Kids Northeast Georgia and help reduce accidental injuries among children.
The three-day event, held at Ramsey Conference Center at Lanier Tech last weekend, featured more than 60 merchants, family-friendly activities, and contributions from dedicated volunteer leaders.
