- ➤ A prayer vigil was held Friday night at SMU Dedman School of Law for Gainesville native Charles Hosch—a 67-year-old Texas lawyer and SMU law professor missing since Tuesday when he left town for a solo hike in Union County—with sponsorship by the Christian Legal Society as his law partner Kate Morris posted updates on the search. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ Gainesville-based non-profit Hope for Hall completed its third inclusive playground — built with the Hall County School District at Lyman Hall Elementary School — to help children with disabilities. The playground features accessible soccer field equipment, sensory and musical components, and education panels that highlight local contributions, and the organization will soon begin fundraising for a new playground at Spouts Springs Elementary School in Flowery Branch. - ➤ Local organizations are fighting hunger during the holidays—Free Chapel Gainesville will offer 40 lb. boxes of fresh chicken on November 20 at 4 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis to support families in need. WSB-TV
- ➤ The Gainesville-based North Georgia Community Foundation awarded $200,000 in grants yesterday to four local non-profit organizations (Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier received $75,000, Catalyst Christian Learning Center received $30,000, Cleveland Care Center, Inc. received $55,000, and J’s Place Recovery Center received $40,000) to support their community programs. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ The University of North Georgia received a $20,085 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to join the Georgia Young Adult Program aimed at reducing crashes among young drivers. The program will present educational events including DUI simulators, alcohol awareness and drink cup covers during Weeks of Welcome + Spirit Nights at the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. 97.5 Glory
