- ➤ Seven free holiday light shows will brighten Northeast Georgia during the holidays and offer families festive views in neighborhoods and downtown areas. In Gainesville, Wilshire Wonderland of Lights will start at Wilshire Trails on November 27—providing a local tradition for residents to enjoy. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ Charles Hosch, 67, a Gainesville native, went missing on Nov. 11 after hiking on the Byron Herbert Reece Trailhead near the Lumpkin-Union county line and was last seen around 1:30 p.m.—police, volunteers, and his family are searching for any sign of him. His daughter Julia said he was an experienced hiker familiar with the trail and urged anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Office at 706-439-6091. AccessWDUN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gainesville residents along Gaines Ferry Road will be without water as city crews work to move a major water main for the new roundabout project. The outage will start at 11 p.m. Friday, Nov.21 and end at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov.22 while affecting about 625 meters and prompting residents to protect water-dependent equipment. FOX 5 Atlanta

- ➤ A Flowery Branch plan for 116 townhomes that was denied in June is being reworked as a proposal for 90 single-family homes on Hog Mountain Road—officials are set to review the new plan soon. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ Parker Carlton, a senior at North Hall (5-foot-10, 197-pound), recorded 189 all-purpose yards in a 62-26 win over Mt. Zion-Jonesboro and earned Offensive Player of the Week honors. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ Gainesville's senior Darryn Williams made eight tackles—including two for loss and two pick-sixes—in the Red Elephants’ 48—3 win over Dunwoody at City Park Stadium; his strong play earned him Defensive Player of the Week. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ North Hall girls repeated as Class 3A state champions in cross country in 2025 after winning at the North Hall Invitational on Sept. 4—adding another chapter to their strong season in Gainesville. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Cherokee Bluff girls won a resounding game over Central Gwinnett + Bears boys along with Flowery Branch and Lakeview Academy boys and Lanier Christian girls also claimed wins in Hall County basketball action. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ North Hall’s Gunner Spain scored 30 points to lead his basketball team to a 60-59 win over East Hall on November 18th in Gainesville — his clutch plays helped secure a narrow victory in a close contest. The Gainesville Times
