- ➤ Starting November 29, the Holly Jolly Trolley will offer free rides from 5 to 10 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until December 27 — the service runs on a three mile loop linking historic downtown Gainesville to Wilshire Wonderland of Lights at Wilshire Trails Park with a new stop at Ivey Terrace Park and riders arriving every 15 to 20 minutes. 97.5 Glory
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A center for those with learning disabilities may close as its building is set for sale – the potential closure could limit local access to specialized services. WSB-TV

- ➤ The RedBud Project, a volunteer conservation group that has stewarded Linwood Nature Preserve for over a decade, was evicted by the city last month—leaving the group surprised and shocked—without a clear explanation. The Gainesville Times

- ➤ Cherokee Bluff high school teams swept Lambert as the Lady Bears set a record with eight 3-pointers by Claire Carlson and the boys were led by Cooper Glover, who scored 22 points—the doubleheader was played on Nov. 25 in Flowery Branch. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ The playoff game between Gainesville High and Langston Hughes High is delayed because the GHSA is appealing a judge's decision that allowed most suspended players to play. The game will be rescheduled once a decision is made on the appeal, according to the athletic director. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ The Flowery Branch boys won again at the Jackson EMC tournament as they advanced in postseason play. Meanwhile, the Lady Falcons won Tuesday's Hall County game—boosting their season record. The Gainesville Times
- ➤ Hall County Superior Court Judge Clint Bearden ruled in favor of Gainesville High School and issued an injunction that blocks the GHSA from enforcing suspensions on 34 players involved in a fight in Brunswick last Friday—only one player remains suspended for the state playoff quarter-finals against top-ranked Langston Hughes. 97.5 Glory
