  • Charles Hosch, a Gainesville native, has been missing since Nov. 11 after hiking near the Lumpkin and Union county line, and his family’s GoFundMe supports search efforts with rescue teams joining on Dec. 13 and 14 to try to find him before the holidays.  AccessWDUN
  • A final search for missing Gainesville native Charles Hosch will take place on Dec. 13 — 14 on Blood Mountain with multiple volunteer roles available and a fundraising effort that has raised $19,570 toward a $26,000 goal as his family calls for local help before the holidays.  97.5 Glory

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A recent study named Hall one of the state’s fastest-growing counties, with Gainesville-anchored Hall County adding about 4,800 newcomers in 2023. Job growth in healthcare, manufacturing & agribusiness helped attract many, including a significant share of Gen Z, which bolstered a robust housing market.  97.5 Glory

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Developers of the proposed data center near O’Kelley Road agreed to conditions set by the Hall County Commission after the Lake Lanier Association analyzed its water use. The agreement limits the project to 9,500 GPD plus an initial fill (and water for fire suppression) to keep lake impact minimal.  97.5 Glory

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Grading has started on a new warehouse project (12 acres) off Thurmon Tanner Parkway in Oakwood. The project marks the first step toward construction and further development in the area.  The Gainesville Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • Senior guard Anna Gliatta surpassed 1,000 career points last week to join Brenau’s basketball record books. The Golden Tiger from Cumming & a nursing major, who attended North Forsyth High School, became the tenth player to reach this milestone.  97.5 Glory
