  • Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club will host its 28th Annual Polar Bear Plunge on Thursday, Jan. 1 at Lake Lanier, with festivities starting at 10:00 a.m. and the plunge scheduled for noon on the club’s docks. The fundraiser will offer free hot chocolate, auction items, and awards for best costume and jump.  97.5 Glory
  • Search efforts for Gainesville native Charlie Hosh will resume today after a brief Christmas Eve pause. Family, BUSAR, Georgia K-9 Search and Recovery and community volunteers continue the search in the Union County mountains.  97.5 Glory

  • A new study finds that Georgia shoppers now spend more on groceries than those in 44 states. Local stores may face higher prices as families adjust their budgets.  WSB-TV

  • Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr joined 13 other state AGs in a public service announcement to help Georgians avoid gift card scams this holiday season, offering tips like inspecting packaging (and checking balances on official sites).
