ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On July 4th, two boaters saw a boat catch fire on Lake Lanier as a towboat was nearby and fire crews pushed the burning vessel to the lake’s center—officials later confirmed that seven people on board got burns and went to the hospital. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ On July 2 at 9:25 p.m., a GSP-Gainesville trooper responded to a crash on SR 11—south of Shope Rd in Hall County—where a deer entered the road and struck a 2001 Harley Davidson Road King ridden by Craig Ray Adkins, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries while one lane remained closed for about 45 minutes. 97.5 Glory
- ➤ Five people were injured when a boat exploded on the south end of Lake Lanier early Friday evening — four were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and one went to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, with all in stable condition. 97.5 Glory

- ➤ GDOT awarded a $125,419 contract to TRP Construction Group — an expert in roadway safety—to add rumble strips and upgrade pavement markings on a 7.59-mile stretch of Old Cornelia Highway from State Route 52 to East Main Street in Hall County.
