The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce announced the Fall 2025 Business Beautification Award winner, El Salvador Restaurant at 857 Bradford Street in Gainesville — owner Ronald Araujo was honored for the extensive renovation that improved the restaurant’s appearance.
The award recognizes efforts to maintain attractive property in the area.
Truett-McConnell University gained national attention after its board removed the suspended president last week for allegedly ignoring sexual abuse issues, and the college added a full-time Title IX coordinator (to help ensure stronger protections) today.
Gas prices in Gainesville fell four cents from last week to $2.84 a gallon, with the statewide average at $2.87, according to AAA.
AAA said the drop is partly due to fall gasoline blends that cost less to produce—storm activity in the Gulf may affect prices if refineries are hit.
